On arrival, our guide will welcome and brief you then transfer you to Volcanoes National 80km from Kigali. Just in case you reach Kigali early you will have yourself a city tour where you will be able to visit the National Museum of the Genocide memorial centre then have lunch and transfer to the park in the afternoon.
After breakfast, the guide will take you to the headquarters in the park by 8 am for briefing. Later embark on the amazing adventure, which is gorilla tracking, in most cases this activity requires some physical fitness by the hikers. On several occasions it takes between 1 to 6hours to trek and trekkers are permitted to be with the gorillas for 1 hour. It is really a nice experience seeing them play, guard each other, feed among others. While trekking hikers will be in line to also see other animals like the golden monkeys, elephants, buffaloes as well as birds. After trekking, you will be escorted back and head to the lodge; have lunch and opt for a visit to the twin lakes; Burera and Ruhondo or take a walk in the community and watch traditional dances of the locals or if you just relax in the afternoon at your lodge.
You will have an early morning breakfast before you check out from the lodge. After that your driver-guide will transfer you to Kigali city where you will have a short time shopping from local markets, you can buy souvenirs. Just in case you are still on time, you could also visit the pottery project and the Franco-Rwandan cultural center. Enjoy lunch and transfer to the airport as you will be heading home.
